How to Make Time for EFT Tapping (and everything else that matters)

I often get asked:

“How do I create a routine with EFT Tapping?”

“How much time should I set aside each day or week?”

These are great questions!

But before I answer them, let’s talk about the real issue - LACK OF TIME - and how to fix it.

Most people try to add EFT Tapping into their already packed schedules, but that’s why they struggle to keep up.

The truth is:

⏳ You don’t need to add "more" to your life—you need to "remove" the things that aren’t working, aren’t helpful, and don’t add real value.

Where Is Your Time Really Going?

When I started working with a business coach, he told me I should take on more clients.

I immediately pushed back. “I work every day! I’m already so busy. I don’t have time for more clients.”

He said, “Alright, let’s do a time audit. Write down everything you do and how much time it takes. Then we’ll see where your time is really going.”

So, I did.

I listed everything—filming YouTube videos, writing emails, client calls, website updates, cleaning, eating, exercising... everything.

When I looked at the numbers, I was shocked.

I was only spending 25-30 hours a week on my actual business (I thought, and it felt like, I was working 40+ hours a week).

Meanwhile, I was:

📱 Spending 1-2 hours a day on social media (not work-related)

📺 Watching 2-3 hours a day of Netflix or random YouTube videos

That’s 3-5 hours per day lost to distractions.

The Simple Shift That Changed Everything

I suddenly realized—I did have extra time.

I wasn’t too busy.

I was spending too much time on "low value" tasks that were taking up a lot of time (and brain power) and weren’t important or aligned with my goals.

So, I started cutting out distractions and unnecessary tasks.

Suddenly, I had more time to:

✅ Exercise regularly

✅ Go on date nights with my wife and be fully present

✅ Eat healthier meals

✅ Keep the house cleaner and more organized

✅ Meditate, read, and stay consistent with EFT Tapping

The biggest lesson?

I wasn’t overwhelmed because I had too much to do—I was overwhelmed because I was spending too much time on things that didn’t matter.

I also realized the true value of my time—and that led me to my next big shift: outsourcing.

How & Why to Start Outsourcing

Some tasks take up a lot of time yet don’t require any special skills or expertise.

These are often called "low-value" tasks because they don’t significantly move you forward in life or business.

They are tasks that basically anyone can do, as they don’t require specialized education or a unique skill set.

Things like:

🧹 Cleaning

🚗 Driving & running errands

🌿 Mowing the lawn

🛒 Grocery shopping

💳 Paying bills

Then, I asked myself:

"If I can pay a cleaner $30 an hour, is it worth it?"

If my time is worth $80 an hour, and I spend 2 hours cleaning, I’m technically spending $160 to clean my own house.

OR, I could pay someone $30 and use those 2 saved hours for something high-value—like growing my business, learning a new skill, or spending time with my family.

So, that’s what I started to do...

✔️ Hired a cleaner

✔️ Hired a gardener to come every few weeks

✔️ Started ordering healthy meal deliveries (while working on high-value tasks)

✔️ Automated my bill payments

✔️ Hired a "Tech Guy" for $20 an hour to fix my website instead of wasting hours trying to figure it out myself

At first, it felt weird paying for things I could technically do myself.

But after freeing up 2-3+ extra hours a day, I realized something powerful...

I was less stressed, more productive, more focused and had way more time for the things that actually mattered.

(But What If I Don’t Have Extra Cash to Outsource?)

I get it—sometimes, money is tight.

That’s why I recommend starting small.

👉 Try outsourcing just one task to see how it feels. What tasks take up a lot of your time and energy, yet you can pay someone else to do it for $5, $10 or $20 an hour?

Once you experience the extra time it frees up, you’ll see how valuable it is.

Over time, delegating tasks will become easier and more natural, allowing you to focus on what truly matters.

Now... It’s Your Turn!

Want more time?

Follow these 4 simple steps.

1️⃣ Do a Time Audit

Before making changes, you need to see where your time is actually going. Take an honest look at your daily and weekly activities:

- Screen time (check your phone and computer usage)

- Time spent commuting, running errands, or shopping

- Hours watching TV, scrolling, or lost online

- Family responsibilities, work tasks, and personal commitments

Be brutally honest! You might be shocked at how much time disappears into things that don’t actually add value to your life.

2️⃣ Assign a $$ Value to Your Time

Ask yourself:

💰 What is my time (and skills and presence) actually worth?

📈 What is my ideal hourly rate?

Now, compare that to how you spend your time.

For example:

  • Spending 2 hours grocery shopping could cost you $150 of your time.

  • OR, you could pay a delivery service $20-30 and use that saved time for something more important—like exercising, resting, or spending time with family.

When you start seeing time as money, it becomes easier to decide what is valuable and what can be automated, outsourced, or eliminated.

3️⃣ Cut the Waste

Now that you see where your time is going, it’s time to clean it up.

  • What’s draining your energy but giving little return? (Mindless scrolling, driving, checking emails every 10 minutes?)

  • What can you outsource or automate? (Cleaning, shopping, driving, bookkeeping—things that don’t require you specifically.)

  • What can you simply stop doing? (Activities that don’t bring joy or move you toward your goals.)

By removing the non-essentials, you create more time for what truly matters.

4️⃣ Focus on What Matters Most

Now that you’ve freed up time invest it in high-value activities that bring real fulfilment. for example:

Building your passion projects or business

Learning a new skill or studying

Spending quality time with family & loved ones

Taking care of your health (eg. EFT Tapping, exercise, self-care)

Engaging in activities that bring you joy (Gardening, yoga, journaling)

Instead of feeling drained by low-value tasks, you’ll be using your time in ways that energize you and move you toward your goals

The Result?

✔️ More time

✔️ Less overwhelm

✔️ Improved health

✔️ Better focus and better results

✔️ More satisfaction in your daily life

True transformation doesn’t come from doing more—it comes from focusing on the right things.

💡"So, how do I add EFT Tapping to my daily routine?"

First, address your time problem. You can even tap as you go through the process :) Then it will be much easier!

In my next post (click here), I’ll answer the question:

💡 "How much EFT Tapping per day is best for results?"

But before that—do a time audit in the next few days.

I promise—you’ll be surprised by what you find! 😊

Blessings,

Michael Hetherington
